Welcome to the DNCC Press Gallery credential application form. Before you begin, please read the summary explanation of the role of the U.S. Congressional Press Galleries in managing media requests for credentials. Most media organizations fall under the jurisdiction of one of the Galleries. If your organization falls under the jurisdiction of the Congressional Galleries, please complete the application form posted at their respective websites.
To apply to the DNCC Press Gallery:
This is an application request for credentials to the Pepsi Center site for the 2008 Democratic National Convention, subject to evaluation and analysis before a final determination and allocation is made. Space at the Convention site is limited, so not all applicants will be granted access credentials. The credentials application deadline is April 15, 2008. Notifications will be sent in May 2008. To be processed, an application must be complete and include all required elements. If you do not fall under the jurisdiction of one of the Galleries and you wish to apply for media credentials for the Convention, you must apply for your credential through the DNCC Press Gallery.
STEP ONE (this form)
• You must be a legitimate media publication/organization with a clear reporting purpose for requesting access to the Convention site. Blogs applying for the DemConvention State Blogger Corps must have been in existence for at least six months and have at least 120 political posts.
• You must provide key information about your organization including the lead contact. Each individual at the applying organization seeking access will be required to fill out a background information form. At this point, please simply indicate the number of individuals in your organization applying for access.
• You will be required to provide objective data that demonstrates your circulation, reach, and frequency. Blogs should provide their authority from Technorati.com.
STEP TWO (follow-up later in 2008)
• You will be required to submit copies of your publication. Online media will be required to provide links in question 13.
• You will be required to provide identification information for all organization personnel applying for credentials.
