Convention News Roundup: July 9, 2008
As the center of attention for Convention-goers, the stage is a key focal point as construction begins in the Pepsi Center. What makes this stage so special? Continuing with DNCC’s greening efforts, the Rocky Mountain News reported that the stage will be built by “entertainment design company PRG, which was given a mandate to rent used materials, including sustainable woods, and to recycle all materials when the stage is torn down.” Read more details about the construction of the stage here.
The Christian Science Monitor explores how DNCC CEO Leah Daughtry combines her strong faith with her role in Democratic politics. The pastor of a Pentecostal Church, Leah has led the Democratic Party’s religious outreach efforts since 2005. Read the full story here.
With the ability to hold over 75,000 people, the move to INVESCO Field at Mile High will allow for greater grassroots participation during the Convention. In the Washington Post, DNC Chairman Howard Dean noted that "Senator Obama does not look at this as his convention; he looks at it as America's convention…It's going to be new. It's going to be different. It's going to be incredibly exciting." Click here to read more.

I also want to know how I can get two tickets to the convention. I've volunteered and donated to the campaign.

How do I get tickets for my two daughters and myself? We all volunteered for Obama before his Colorado Caucus.
